Switching from oil heat to an eligible electric heat pump system has never been easier.

Thanks to a federal government initiative (OHPA), The Total Home Energy Savings Program offers up to $15,000 in advance funding to help cover the cost of replacing your oil heating system with a heat pump.

Income Qualifications

Your eligibility is based on the total number of people living in your household. Household income is calculated based on your income and that of your spouse or common-law partner (if applicable). Combined gross before-tax income must be below the amounts listed in this table.

Household Size Gross Income*
1 person
$42,000
2 people $94,000
3 people $131,000
4 people
$165,000
5 people or more

* Gross income is the total amount of money you earn before any deductions, such as taxes, RRSP contributions, insurance premiums, etc.
* Note: Income numbers differ from the natural resources website as the federal government uses net income (after tax) in its calculations.
