The Government of Canada recently announced that the Canada Greener Homes Grant program is closed to new applications. Natural Resources Canada has indicated homeowners who have already applied to the Canada Greener Homes Grant program will be considered for program support.
The Canada Greener Homes Loan, which offers up to $40,000 in interest-free financing for energy-efficient upgrades, and programs to support off-oil transition is not impacted by this announcement.
If you were already enrolled in the Canada Greener Homes Grant Program when it closed, please refer to the comprehensive Greener Homes Website which contains all the program details you need or you can call 1 833 674-8282 for more information.
There are differences between the Total Home Energy Savings Program and the Greener Homes program, some of which could mean that an upgrade qualifies in one program and not the other. The best place for information is the Greener Homes website.

No, this does not impact your participation in the Total Home Energy Savings Program.
If you already applied to both the Total Home Energy Savings program and the Canada Greener Homes Grant you can stack incentives and grants from both programs. If you haven’t applied, you can still register and access an incentive through the Total Home Energy Savings Program.

The cost to participate in the Total Home Energy Savings program is unchanged ($99 + HST). This extra cost covers the additional effort required of your energy advisor to process your Canada Greener Homes files.
