Starting May 1st, 2023, the Total Home Energy Savings program and New Home Energy Savings program will recognize heat pumps on the Canada Greener Homes list of cold climate air source heat pumps. For participants who register on or after May 1st, 2023, qualifying central, mini split, and multizone heat pumps must be found on this list.
Note that this list is updated four times per year. Manufacturers should work with Natural Resources Canada to have systems added to the list.
For participants registered before May 1st, 2023, you can access NB Power’s lists of eligible heat pumps below. For these existing participants, on a go forward basis, NB Power will check if installed heat pumps appear on either the lists below or the Canada Greener Homes list of cold climate air source heat pumps.
